At the invitation of the Ministry of Education of the People s Republic of China, the eight-member visiting-China delegation of Eritrea Commission on Higher Education from the West Bank of the Red Sea, Africa,led by executive chairman Dr. Tadesse Mehari, arrived in Beijing on March 24,2009, launching visit to three universities of China for seven days. After visiting Beijing Normal University and Huazhong Normal University in succession, the delegation came to Xi an and started visiting Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU), the final leg of this official journey.
Both sides held deeper consultation about some issues such as Eritrea dispatching returned students to SNNU; jointly cultivating Masters and Doctors; SNU lending teaching assistance to colleges and universities in Eritrea by dispatching excellent teachers; international exchanges and co-operation between universities.
