To carry out NPU's talent recruitment strategy, broaden the international cooperation and to recruit high-level overseas talents, Professor Zheng Ya, Standing Vice President headed a delegation visited the University of Victoria, the University of West Ontario, and the University of Toronto.

During the visit, the delegation held three NPU high-level overseas talent recruitment meetings and presented the university's developments through its publicity documentary. The authorities for Personnel Division acquainted the participants with NPU's high-level overseas talent recruitment plan.

Professor Zheng Ya gave informative and vivid lectures on the advantages of NPU's discipline building-up, talent building-up and human resource development environment; the Chinese students and professors at the three universities were moved by his lectures. During the recruitment meetings, many students submitted their resumes and many overseas Chinese professors in Canada expressed their great interest in conducting research cooperation with NPU or applying for the state or Shaanxi provincial high-level overseas talent recruitment programs.

The delegation also visited the laboratories at the universities and met with more than ten overseas Chinese scholars who have made outstanding achievements in materials science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electronics or computer science, thus strengthening their mutual understanding and reaching several consensuses on further cooperation and exchange.

The delegation met with Professor Suleman, Vice Chancellor of the University of Victoria and talked with the authorities from the Office of International Affairs, the Graduate School and the College of Engineering about human resources training, research cooperation and academic exchange. The two universities reached many consensuses and signed a cooperation agreement.

In London, Canada, the delegation met with Professor Hewitt, Vice Chancellor of the University of West Ontario and signed an agreement. In Toronto, the delegation met with the alumni from NPU's School of Educational Experiment.

The visit to Canada was very fruitful. It has raised NPU's reputation, reached high-level talent recruitment intentional agreements with many overseas Chinese professors working in Canada and further promoted NPU's cooperation and exchange with Canadian prestigious universities.
