The U.S. engineering education delegation made up of 10 members led by Dr. James L Melsa, former chairman of the U.S. Engineering Education Association, visited NPU on Nov. 1, 2010 and was warmly welcomed by Tang Hong, director of Office for International Cooperation
Dr. Melsa says that through the publicity videos on NPU in English, his delegation members have a rough idea of NPU and think that it is an engineering education university of distinctive characteristics.
Tang Hong Director of Office of International Cooperation, Li Yuren, deputy director of Teaching Administrative Office Cui Weimin and Lu Weiping, vice deans of School of Aeronautics, together with the delegation members, exchange their views on the curricula and methods of undergraduates' engineering education, the arrangement and design of their engineering practice and employers' requirements for the ability of students of engineering science.
The U.S. engineering education delegation is made up of resource professors from Iowa State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton Ohio, the West Point Military Academy, New York State, New Mexico State University and Pennsylvania State University. The objectives of the delegation are to explore how to build a more reasonable curriculum of engineering education and how to reform it more effectively.
