Dr. Li Tao and Dr. Gong Qiyong of West China Hospital, Sichuan University are nominated CMB Distinguished Professors. Competition in this third year of the China Medical Board (CMB) Distinguished Professorships Awards was very strong, with a total of 22 applicants nominated by China finest medical universities and research institutions, such as Peking University, Peking Union Medical College, Fu Dan University, Central South University, Zhejiang University and Zhong Shan University, etc.
With only six awards to be given, the review committee task was very difficult, and they commented on the high quality of the applicant pool. Six professors have been selected for China Medical Board (CMB) Distinguished Professorship Awards in 2010. Each of them will get a support of US$60,000. They are (in alphabetical order):

The review committee members are Dr. Eleanor Shore from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Michael Phillips, a prominent Canadian psychiatrist, Dr. Jordan J. Cohen, the president emeritus of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and Dr. Jane Henney from Indiana University School of Medicine, who was the first woman to be named commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
