Three SCUT teachers awarded the 5th Renowned Teacher of Guangdong Higher Education

Recently, Department of Education of Guangdong province officially announced the winner list of the 5th Renowned Teacher of Guangdong Higher Education. Prof. WEI Gang from School of Electronic & Information Engineering, Prof. HUANG Ping from School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering, and Prof. TONG Zhen from School of Materials Science & Engineering, were among the list. So far, 13 teachers of SCUT have been awarded this prize.

Prof. WEI Gang is the responsible person of "Digital Signal Processing", the National Elite Course, and National Pilot Site of Training Entrepreneurial Talent Majoring in Electronics & Information. He has been awarded the second prize of National Teaching Achievement and first prize of Guangdong Provincial Teaching Achievement in 2009.

Prof. HUANG Ping has been awarded "Renowned Teacher of Guangdong province", first prize of Guangdong Provincial Teaching Achievement and second prize of National Teaching Achievement. He is in charge of "Mechanic Design", National Bilingual Teaching Demonstration Course, and "Basis of Mechanical Designing", National Elite Course. As the manager of SCUT Basic Mechanical Teaching Experiment Center, he successfully declared National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.

Prof. TONG Zhen was awarded "Renowned Teacher of Guangdong province" and "Model Teacher of National Education" in 1995, "National Outstanding Teacher" in 2004. He is the manager of "Macromolecular Physics", National Elite Course, and the participator of "Macromolecule Material and Engineering", Guangdong Provincial Famous Program. He has made great achievements in teaching and education reform.
