On the afternoon of May 8, the finale and the defense procedure of the 6th SCUT "Challenge Cup" Student in Free Enterprise (SIFE) competition was held at the conference hall of Shaw Building of Science. 12 teams made their final pitches on the last day of the competition.
In his speech, vice-president ZHANG Zhen-gang made a high appraisal of the competition, saying that it was well-organized, extensive in influence and notable in achievements.
Zhang also pointed out that it is of vital importance for college students to take part in "Challenge Cup" competition series. It has provided them a good opportunity to expand their vision, improve their competencies and demonstrate their talents.
After a fierce rivalry, the competition elected one first prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prized and 3 excellence prizes. Among the winners, "The business plan of Hua Pusi Environmental Technologies Co. Ltd." proposed by the Tian Xingjian team was awarded the first prize.
This SIFE competition was jointly sponsored by SCUT Youth League Committee, Science & Technology Division, Graduate School, Teaching Affairs Office, and School of Administration. It is reported that since the initiation on December, the competition has gone through a lot of procedures such as group salon, preliminaries and the finals. A total of 96 teams participated in the competition and their entries covered various areas in service industry, manufacturing and IT etc.
