SCUT holds its 25th Postgraduate Congress

On the afternoon of April 29, the 25th SCUT Postgraduate Congress was held at the international conference hall of Liwu Science and Technology building.

The opening ceremony kicked off in the solemn national anthem. On behalf of Students' Federation of Guangdong (hereinafter referred to as SFG), YANG Yousen, president of SFG, delivered his congratulation speech to the congress. The congress also read out the congratulation letter from the Postgraduate Union of Tsinghua University.

In his speech, Vice-president ZHU Min highly appraised the efforts and achievements that the Postgraduate Union has made in the past two years. He hoped that Postgraduate Union can serve as a link between university and its students to enhance the postgraduate students' consciousness in participating in democratic management so that students can play an effective role in improving school management. He also hoped that postgraduate student leaders can work steadfastly and all the postgraduates will broaden their learning, cultivate their minds and forge ahead with determination.

At the congress, 488 postgraduate delegates reviewed and approved the "Work report of the 24th committee of SCUT Postgraduate Union" and "Regulations on election of the 1st session of the 25th committee of SCUT Postgraduate Union (Draft)" etc. The congress elected SHA Wenjian and other 21 postgraduate students as the members of the 25th committee of SCUT Postgraduate Union.
