On June 18, a 3-member delegation of Universit de Nantes visited South China University of Technology (SCUT). The three members were Ren Le Gall (dean of Ecole Polytechnique de l'Universit de Nantes), Yves Thomas (advisor to the president of Universit de Nantes) and Yide Wang (dean of Ecoles doctorales of Ecole Polytechnique de l'Universit de Nantes).
ZHU Min, vice-president of SCUT, extended a warm welcome to the guests. ZHU gave the guests an introduction to the developmental situation of SCUT and expressed the hope to promote the communication and cooperation between two universities to a higher level and broader areas. Dean Ren Le Gall also gave a brief introduction to the general situation of Ecole Polytechnique de l'Universit de Nantes and hoped that the two universities could maintain the long-term friendly cooperative relationship.
At the meeting, the representatives of two sides conducted an in-depth discussion about the cooperation mode between two universities, and expressed the will to build the Sino-French Engineers Institute. At last, the two universities came to a decision that "The 3+1+2 Project of SCUT & Universit de Nantes" would be the first key task of the Sino-French Engineers Institute.
