Vice-President Ji Zong an Metting with Russian Scholars

On the morning of April 28th, Prof. Victor Larin, Russian expert on Far East studies visited JinanUniversity with his wife Associate Professor Larina Lilia Livovna. They were greeted by Pro. Ji Zong an, vice president of JinanUniversity. Prof. Ji briefly introduced to the guests the school history, current development and exchanges and cooperation with outside. After the meeting, the guests visited the AlumniBuilding and the library, and had a meeting with staff from Institute of Overseas Chinese Studies.

Prof. Larin and Mrs Larin gave two lectures in the institute, namely China and Chinese People in Today s Life of the Pacific Region in Russia and View on Region and Its Surrounding of Residents from Russia's Far East Region on April 29th. Then the university held an ceremony conferring honorary professorship on Prof. Larin.

Prof. Victor Larin is the Director of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the Peoples of the Far East, Far Eastern Branch, RussianAcademy of Sciences, who has an in-depth research on issues like relationship between the far east and North-east Asian countries and immigrants in the Far East, etc.
