General Consul of the U.S. Visiting Jinan University

Mr. Brain Goldbeck, Consul-General of US, paid a visit to Jinan University on Oct.20th, together with Mr. Robert Palladino, Public Affairs Officer. The guests were greeted by Prof. Lin Rupeng, Vice President of Jinan University.

Prof. Lin introduced to Mr. Goldbeck the history and the latest development of Jinan University, especially its cooperation with overseas. Mr. Glodbeck is an alumnus of University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, one of the closest partners of Jinan. Prof. Lin briefed the consul-general with the achievements Jinan has made on cooperative programs with UWEC in the past twenty years and plans for future cooperation.

Mr. Goldbeck spoke highly of Jinan University s cooperation with outside. He wished that the exchange and cooperation in the education field could put the wishes of the leaders of the two nations to further develop sino-American relations into reality. He also wished that the forthcoming visit from Mr. Gary Faye Lock, Secretary of Commerce of the United States to JNU a success.

Mr. Li Lijia, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, JNU attended the meeting.
