From November 29th to December 4th, a delegation of four people from Wakayama Medical University, led by President Toru Itakura, visited SDU. They were met by Vice-President Zhang Yun and Vice-President Chen Yan. Zhang hoped to strengthen cooperation between the two universities by enlarging communications in student cultivation and scientific research. Chen said SDU is willing to strengthen cooperative ties with Wakayama Medical University in the process of its internationalization, which would benefit both sides. Itakura cherishes the traditional friendship with SDU, and will make more effort to enhance cooperation. He mentioned that next year would be the 25th year since the two universities started a cooperative tie. This should be a special occasion to reinforce cooperative relations. During their stay, the delegation visited the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and Qilu Hospital. Itakura and the other three professors gave academic reports and introduced the latest research achievements and research prospects. Specific future cooperative programs were also made. The delegation also visited the International Office, where future cooperative plans were discussed. Director Tong Guangwu was present at the meeting.
