Sci-Tech Communication Scholarship of Anda Established in USTC

"The Sci-Tech Communication Scholarship of Anda", special for the School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS) of USTC, was established in USTC on October 14th, 2010. Ms. Lu Ming, the Deputy Party Secretary of USTC, and Mr. Wang Zhengqian, the CEO of Hefei Anda Electronics Group as well as Mr. Pan Zhengxiang, the party secretary of SHSS attended the ceremony.

The signing ceremony was hosted by Prof. Tang Shukun, the Executive Dean of SHSS. Related department heads from the STPC (Dept of Sci-Tech Policy and Communication), SHSS, and Anda Corporation, attended the launching and signing ceremony as well.

On behalf of USTC, Lu Ming showed great thanks to Anda for the new scholarship in the field of sci-tech communication in USTC. As she said, Anda had the insight and wisdom to encourage more outstanding students in USTC to learn more and do more in this promising new area of the sci-tech communication, which can play an indispensable role between Arts and Science, make more contributions to activate the campus culture and promote its soft power for the public.

After Ms. Lu's speech of welcome, Wang Zhengqian, the CEO of Anda, gave his speech and encouraged more students in USTC to study hard and cultivate talents for the fields of the sci-tech communication of China.

Mr. Pan Zhengxiang read out the administrative measures (interim) of the Anda scholarship. After that, the student representative Mr. Zhang Huwei from the STPC expressed his experience, feeling and gratitude to Anda Corporation for the scholarship. Afterward, the scholarship signing ceremony was held between USTC and Anda. Lu Ming and Wang Zhengqian signed the scholarship contract on behalf of USTC and Anda respectively, and Lu gave a souvenir to Wang soon later.

As a national new high-tech enterprise and Hefei innovative enterprise, the Hefei Anda electronic Limited liability company was established in 1990s, developing the new cultural and creative industry for popularization of science, such as sci-tech museums, theme pavilions and exhibitions. In its history, the Anda Corporation had cooperated with the humanities school of USTC on many projects, such as the Wuxi Sci-tech Museum.

For now, we can believe both USTC and Anda will cooperate on more training programs and research projects, as well as the research center for science communication in USTC.
