Sponsored by China Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Chinese Artists Association and National Art Museum of China, an exhibition on view is hoped to showcase the works of the faculties from the department of the traditional Chinese painting of Central Academy of Fine Arts. The show is on display at Hall 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9 since Oct. 24 until Oct.31.
The traditional Chinese painting college of Central Academy of Fine Arts, whose predecessor was the traditional Chinese painting department of the academy, has always regarded the revelation of the traditional Chinese painting as its mission for quite a long time. The college has tried to re-recognize the tradition in the new era and a number of questions concerning the relation between the tradition and the western modern art.
The college is of great importance to professional education, academic research and artistic creation in the circle of the traditional Chinese painting and has established a comparatively complete set of experience system in many fields. The institute has pursued to deepen understanding of the tradition with reference to the western contemporary art.
This exhibition features a number of artworks mostly created by the faculties on duty since the college was founded in 2005. The exhibits cover a wide range of categories from freehand figure drawings and landscapes paintings to flower-bird paintings and calligraphy. The show is hoped to reflect in a comprehensive way academic exploration and artist creation undertaken by the present faculties of the school and remarkable achievements for the revitalization of the traditional Chinese painting by the teachers and the artists of several generations from Central Academy of Fine Arts.
