Myanmar quake caused tremors in Bangkok

The 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar Thursday evening has caused tremors to be felt not just in northern Thailand, but in the capital city, Bangkok, as well.

The large earthquake led people to leave their homes in panic. According to a report in Yahoo News, police authorities in Mae Sai in Thailand s northernmost province of Chiang Rai said a woman had been killed when a wall at her house collapsed. There were no other deaths or injuries reported in the said province.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 111-kilometres from north of the town of Chiang Rai, Thailand. There were ten aftershocks recorded that further sparked fear and panic among residents.
