Vice Minister Niu Dun Meets with Vice Governor of Indiana State of US

June 10-Vice Minister Niu Dun met with the visiting Vice Governor of Indiana Sate of US, Ms. Becky Skillman, to exchange opinions on enhancing agricultural cooperation.

According to the Vice Minister, in recent years, the bilateral cooperation and exchanges in agriculture have been effective, with constantly improved agricultural cooperation mechanism, evident outcomes of cooperation in agricultural technology and rapid development of agricultural trade.

In order to promote the cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and the State of Indiana, Vice Minister Niu proposed that the two sides could carry out exchanges in agricultural and rural economic information and policies; strengthen agricultural technological cooperation and personnel exchanges; and further on to remove the restraints on China's agricultural products to be exported to US, and safeguard the sound and steady development of bilateral trade in farm produce.

Vice Governor Skillman agreed with the proposals of Vice Minister Niu, and stated the readiness to enhance cooperation with Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and refer the concern of the Chinese side to relevant authorities of the US Government.

Officials from MOA departments of international cooperation, and crop farming administration, as well as the Bureau of Veterinary were present at the meeting.
