Vice Minsiter Niu Dun Meets with State Secretary Ola T. Heggem of Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food

On June 28, Niu Dun, Vice Minister of Agriculture met with visiting Ola T. Heggem, State Secretary of Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The two sides exchanged ideas on agricultural cooperation.

Niu Dun said that in recent years, Norway s frequent high-level agricultural visits to China had promoted mutual understanding and trust, laying a solid foundation for bilateral agricultural cooperation and pushing forward the cooperation in animal husbandry and fishery fields. The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture prioritized mutual beneficial cooperation with Norway, willing to press ahead with further agricultural cooperation. To this end, Niu Dun proposed three suggestions: establishment of agricultural cooperation mechanism; set-up of information exchange mechanism; and implementation of practical cooperation.

The State Secretary agreed with Vice Minister Niu Dun, willing to give feedback on an early date and implement the consensus. He also briefed the Chinese side on policy information of Norwegian agriculture and food.
