Fostering Model Innovation and Comprehensively Advancing Green Control of Corn Borers

On July 10 and 11, the National Agricultural Technology Extension and Service Center held a national on-the-spot meeting in Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province, exchanging experience in green control of corn borers, with a view to carefully implementing the spirit of the National Plant-Protection Working Conference and Guiding Opinions for National Green Control of Corn Borers, and to giving full play to the protective role of plant protection technologies in this year s harvest. The meeting was chaired by research fellow Zhang Yuejin, chief plant-protection expert at the Center, and concluded by Director-General Xia Jingyuan.

Xia Jingyuan stressed that it was imperative to advance green control of corn borers in an all-round way, which required deeper understanding and stronger measures in plant-protection departments at all levels. He added that we should strengthen the organizational leadership, technical guidance, performance evaluation, technological R&D, and the guiding role of publicity.

Representatives attending the meeting are observing the demonstration and listening to the presentation.
