On June 22, Yu Kangzhen, State Chief Veterinary Officer met with visiting Karen Hulebak, Chairperson of Codex.
Yu Kangzhen said that China paid great attention to cooperation with Codex, actively involved into the identification of standards of Codex, and carried out its obligation in Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues. He suggested the two sides enhance mutual-trust and push ahead friendly cooperation.
Ms. Hulebak agreed and appreciated the Ministry of Agriculture for its support and contribution to Codex, and spoke highly of China s role as the presidential country of Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues and Codex Committee on Food Addictives.
The two sides exchanged views on important issues such as the maximum residue limit of ractopamine in swine tissues.
