On the afternoon of July 28, 2008 in Jixue Hall, a grand ceremony was held for the closure of the Wenchuan-in-my-heart & Chinese-Foreign Teenagers Heart-to-heart Summer Camp . This summer camp was organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs office of Shaanxi province and Shaanxi Normal University and sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affair Office of State Council. The following people were present at the ceremoney Lei Zhengang, director of the Cultural Propaganda Department of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of State Council, Zhang Baowen, the director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Shaanxi Province, Jiang Xiule, secretary of the Party Committee of SNU, 450 primary and middle school students and 50 teachers from the earthquake-stricken areas, Sichun Province, Chongqing, Gansu Province, Shaanxi Province ect., and also the foreign students studied in Shaanxi Province.
The theme of the activity was to discover the culture and to give hand to Wenchuan . During the nine days, a number of colorful activities and programs were arranged. The members visited the Museum of Shaanxi Province, the Museum of Terra cotta Warriors and Horses, Huaqing Hot Spings , Qianling, Famen Temple, the tomb of Huangdi, etc.;all these places are the emblems of ancient Chinese civilization and history. The members also visited some typical scenic spots, such as the city wall, the Wild Goose Pagoda, the Lotus Garden of Tang Dynasties. They also visited Yan an, the holy place of Chinese revolution and the cradle of the PRC. In addition, a visit to Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Normal University and some other well-known universities gave them a taste of campus life. They also chatted with college students (including foreign ones) and shares their mappings of future.All of them enjoyed nine-day camp. ( trans: Chu Tianxia)
