President LI Yuanyuan present at the Symposium of Cross-straits University Presidents

On the afternoon of May 17, as an important activity of the 1st Straits Forum, the Symposium of Cross-straits University Presidents pulled its curtain open at Overseas Chinese Hotel in Xiamen city. Fifty-one university presidents from mainland and Taiwan universities attended the conference and had in-depth discussion focusing on the theme of "reinforcing exchanges between universities cross straits, jointly developing win-win education".

SCUT President LI Yuanyuan was present at the conference and delivered a wonderful speech on the current status and development prospects of inter-school cooperation in relation to the actual conditions in SCUT. His speech was highly appraised by the conference representatives. His proposal on cooperative school-running between Guangdong and Taiwan was specially concerned and received positive response.

After the conference, some Taiwan representatives expressed their wishes in establishing cooperation with SCUT.
