Recently, Ministry of Education unveiled the evaluation result of 2009 National Teaching Groups. Two SCUT teaching groups were among the list, namely, SCUT Pulp and Paper Making Principal and Engineering Teaching Group, led by Professor CHEN Gang of School of Light Industry & Food Sciences, and Engineering Drawing Teaching Group, led by Professor CHEN Jinchang of School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering. Up to now, there are in total four SCUT teaching groups being selected.
The construction of national teaching groups aims at reforming teaching contents and methods, developing teaching resources, encouraging teaching research discussions and experience exchanges, and finally improving the teaching level through the construction of teamwork system and mutual efforts of all teachers. In 2009, there are 305 college teaching groups being selected national teaching groups.
