On the afternoon of Sept. 28, the opening ceremony of 2009 "I Love My Motherland" Science, Technology and Culture Festival and "Ode to the Chinese Nation: Celebration of 60th Anniversary of the Founding of New China Calligraphies and Paintings Exhibition" were held on the North Campus. LV Tingxiu, Vice president attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
All the pictures of the exhibition came from the Xinhua News Agency. Nearly one thousand precious pictures recorded the growth of new China. Calligraphies and paintings were works by SCUT faculty and students and children from the primary and secondary schools attached to SCUT. The exhibition will last until Oct.15 at Shao Humanities Building.
The exhibition raised the curtain of SCUT annual science, technology and culture festival. There will be about 60 activities and 8 themes, including "Ode to the Motherland," "Light of Science and Technology," "Journey of Culture," and "Passionate SCUT." The festival will last for about 2 months.
