On May 8, H1N1 flu virus detecting kits developed by Guangzhou Wandfo Biotech Co. Ltd. of SCUT passed the recheck in the national key laboratory of new infectious diseases in the Hong Kong University directed by Academician YUAN Guoyong, in which the specific kits were used in detecting epidemic strains discovered from Hong Kong's first diagnosed patient and proved to be feasible in rapid detection of H1N1 flu virus.

As the first and only kits of the sort in the country, the kits are characterized as field detection available and equipments free with the results attained within 3 to 10 minutes. And the error proportion of the experiment conducted in Hongkong is 1:8000, which means that the kits have reached the export standards of similar products.

The kits are of high sensitivity comparable to that of ELSA kits', hence they can be applied in large scale field detection. The attainment shows that a cooperative team has been developed well in SCUT with a solid scientific and technological foundation in prevention and control of infectious diseases as well as a strong capacity of integrating education, research and application.
