Yang Xueshan, vice Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, conducted a survey and delivered a thematic report at SYSU
On May 18, Yang Xueshan, vice minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, visited Sun Yat-sen University and conducted a survey, accompanied by President Huang Daren vice president Xu Anlong, Xie Xuening, director of Guangzhou bureau of Technology and Information as well as the persons from relevant schools and functional offices.
On the survey forum, firstly, President Huang Daren briefed on the general affairs of disciplinary development and scientific researches of SYSU to minister Yang Xueshan. subsequently, Professor Huang Jiwu, Professor Tan Hongdan from School of Information and Professor Li Wenjun, associate Professor Sun Wei from School of Software, respectively presented the ideas and procedures for disciplinary construction, scientific research and talents cultivation.
In his speech, vice minister Yang Xueshan exressed congratulations on the achievements SYSU has gained during the recent years, confirmed the ideas and procedures propsed by the professors and made positive suggestions for SYSU, especially for Information discipline, on talents cultivating mechanism, scientific research and international cooperation model.

After the survey forum, vice minister Yang Xueshan made a subjective report on From middle 18 century to middle 22 century, the footprint of the progress of human civilization , which was presided over by vice president Xu Anlong. During the two hours lecture, vice minister Yang generalized the evolution trend of human society from agricultural civilization, through industrial civilization, to information civilization. He also depicted an ideal blueprint for the development of information civilization until 2159 and longer. simple but profound, Minister Yang s lecture revealed a developing trend for information science and technology and China s strategic thoughts on relevant fields. It was highly regarded and well received by the audience.
