Zheng Changhong Attends Signing Ceremony of High-speed Train Independent Innovation Cooperation Agreement

Not long ago, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Railways signed the Joint Action Plan Cooperation Agreement of China High-speed Train Independent Innovation in Beijing. State councilor Chen Zhili, Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology Wan Gang and Minister of Ministry of Railways Liu Zhijun attended the signing ceremony. CSR President Zheng Changhong and general manager of CSR Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd Wangjun were invited to witness the signing ceremony.

The Joint Action Plan Cooperation Agreement of China High-speed Train Independent Innovation jointly arranged and worked out by Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Railways will pay most attention to realize four goals: first is to make breakthrough in key technologies, develop new generation high-speed train with the speed of 350 or more kilometers per hour, providing cogent equipment guarantee to Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railways.

Second is to build and improve the 350km/h or more China high-speed railways technology system owning independent property right and strong international competitive power, speeding up to realize the goal of leading global high-speed railways technology. Third is to exert the advantage of alliance of the two ministries, constructing innovative chain and production and research league of high-speed train technology with Chinese characteristics.

Fourth is to positively lead the innovative elements to gather in enterprises, promote the transformation from innovation fruits to practical productive ability and build China high-speed train industrial chain and industrial group, driving and enhancing Chinese capability of manufacturing related important equipments.

It is learned that CSR Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. has made great achievement in designing and manufacturing 200-300km/h trains: currently, CRH2 200km/h high-speed trains have finished mass production and there are 60 trains put into operation since the sixth railway speed-increase; the first China-made 300km/h high-speed train was finished and rolled off line at the end of last year. The independently developed high-speed multiple units MU will come into formal operation in Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway at the eve of Olympic Games.

According to the report from Xinhua News Agency, large-scale development of high-speed railway boasting comparative advantages, such as large transport volume, security and comfort and the environment-friendly and sustainable characteristics, is the only way of solving the scant supply contradiction of traffic transport capability restricted by energy, population, resource and environment, as well as driving the development of related advanced technology and upgrade of the international competitive power of related industries.

Implementing this plan will project positive and profound influence to the sustainable development of China railways and even the whole traffic transportation system.
