The Mine Power Plant under Ramu Project was commissioned on December 15, 2009. General Manager Luo Shu and Vice General Manager Yang Yong of Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Limited (Ramu), Ramu Project Manager Hu Zhiliang of China Nonferrous Engineering and Research Institute (ENFI), Ramu Project Chief Zeng Ge of CISDI Engineering Co., Ltd. (CISDI) and over 100 representatives from the design, construction, supervision and the mining sectors witnessed the great event.
The plant is deemed to be the power and energy guarantee for the whole mining project. Since the equipment assembly work was started in June 2009, the Mine Department of Ramu undertook close cooperation with the various construction units and the foreign equipment manufacturers. Thanks to their concerted efforts, they have overcome quite many difficulties, for instance, the delivery and installation of large-sized equipment on the mine. The successful commissioning of the plant marked that, as another milestone of the project, the trial run of the mine engineering will be soon commenced.
