Dr. Keith Carpenter, Director of the Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences(ICES), Singapore, and Member of Royal Society, UK, was invited to visit DICP with other four Singapore scientists on 30th March.
Prof. LI Can, Vice-Director of DICP, gave a friendly reception to the Singapore guests, and introduced to them the present status of DICP s research activities. Dr. Carpenter also presented to the hosts the background information of ICES and their main research programs. The guests were then invited to visit the Bio-Tech Research Division, the Fine Chemicals Department and the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis of DICP.
The Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences of Singapore was founded in 2002, and is one of the 12 national institutes of the Science and Technology Research Bureau of Singapore. Among the 200 and more scientists in this institute, most of them came from top level universities, institutes or international companies of more than 20 countries.
Research areas of the institute include applied catalysis, industrial bio-technology, green chemical synthesis processes, industrial crystallization and granule engineering, chemical engineering process development, simulation and control, and full synthesis of natural products.
