Prof. Doo Sung LEE of the Macro-molecular Science & Engineering Department, Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, visited DICP on 24th February, and he was given a warm reception by Prof. MA Xiaojun, Vice-Director of Bio-Tech Division, DICP.
Prof. Lee is Vice-Chairman of the South Korea Bio-Materials Society, and he is engaging in researches of macro-molecular bio-medical materials. He came to DICP with the objective of enhancing the cooperation between DICP and the Sungkyunkwan University.
During his stay in DICP, Prof. Lee was invited to give a lecture on the topic of "pH sensitive micelles and hydrogels for biomedical application", in which he introduced the investigations of his research team on the transferring of drugs by means of pH sensitive micelles and hydrogels. Then, he was invited to visit the DICP research teams of Component Chinese Medicines, and Bio-Medical Materials Engineering. While visiting the latter research team, Prof. Lee discussed with the DICP scientists on the possible cooperation in slow-releasing bio-materials research.
