International Symposium on Solar Cells and Solar Fuels Opened in Dalian

The symposium was co-organized by Dalian University of Technology(DUT) and DICP, and was held in Dalian from 10th to 12th of December.

The symposium was co-chaired by Prof. PENG Xiaojun of DUT, Prof. SUN Licheng of KTH (Kungliga Tekniska h gskolan, Royal Institute of Technology), Sweden, and Prof. LI Can(Member of CAS), DICP. More than 260 participants from China and abroad attended the symposium, among them were about 30 scientists from DICP.

Topic lectures were delivered by 27 scholars active in the areas of solar energy research and coming from Switzerland, USA, Japan, Germany, France, Sweden and Singapore, covering frontier theories and applications on solar energy and solar chemical conversion. Prof. LI Can of DICP and Prof. Michael Gr tzel of EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique F d rale de Lausanne), Switzerland, were invited to give plenary lectures. Their lecture titles were respectively "Basic Research on Photo-Catalyzed Hydrogen Production" and "The Coming of Mesoscopic Solar Cells".
