Prof. R. Graham Cooks of the Purdue University, USA, was invited to visit DICP from 18th to 20th of July for academic exchanges as part of the celebration activities of the 60th Anniversary of DICP. During his visit, he presented a DICP Anniversary Lecture titled "Fundamentals of ionization, ion reactions and ion/surface collisions.
" The lecturing session was chaired by Prof. LI Haiyang of the Instrumental Analytical Chemistry Laboratory of DICP. After the lecture, an Honorary Lecture Certificate in Memory of the 60th Anniversary of DICP was bestowed upon Prof. Cooks by Prof. ZOU Hanfa, Vice-Director of Bio-Tech Research Division of DICP, on behalf of the institute.
Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP, had a friendly meeting with Prof. Cooks. During the meeting, Prof. ZHANG briefed to Prof. Cooks on the general situation and the development prospects of DICP. Then the host and the guest exchanged ideas on the possibilities of initiating cooperation between DICP and Purdue University on the fabrication, application and talent nurturing in the mass spectroscopy area. Prof. Cooks was also invited to visit laboratories of the Bio-Tech Research Division as well as the Instrumental Analytical Chemistry Laboratory of DICP.
