On Nov.5, Changsha Mayor Zhang Jianfei attended the 2010 International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection and the C40 Forum held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at the invitation of Hong Kong Environment Bureau Chief Qiu Tenghua.
Mr. Zhang made a statement at the meeting about Changsha s efforts to address the challenge brought by low-carbon development as a representative of mayors.
During his stay from Nov.5 to 7 in Hong Kong, he and his delegation intensively investigated the city s traffic development. They visited Transport Department, Highways Department, MTR and China Merchants Group, where they learnt the development of urban public transport, and roads and bridges planning. They also went to parking lot, modern container port, Tsing Ma Bridge, Stonecutters Bridge, Transit Control Centre, transit comprehensive hub station and metro comprehensive hub station for field investigation.
In addition, Mr. Zhang and his delegation met and exchanged views with renowned entrepreneurs, namely, Li Yuanming, deputy commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in the HKSAR, Chen Zhendong, honorary chairman of the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council, and Wu Taihe, chairman of the board of Wellgain International Industrial Ltd.
