Changsha Awarded as National Demonstration City in Smooth Traffic Project

Changsha is honored as "National Demonstration City in Managing Smooth Traffic Project"

The conference on granting the honorary medal of"National Demonstration City in Smooth Traffic Project"was convened on the morning of Dec. 1st. Relevant chief from the national leading group of the Smooth Traffic Project announced the "Decision on Awarding Changsha the National Demonstration City in Smooth Traffic Project"and conferred the medal on Changsha.

The three-year comprehensive treatment of road traffic order was launched in Changsha in April, 2007. To ease the tension between pedestrians and vehicles, the public security and traffic police have made great efforts to optimize the traffic structure in certain crossroads and sections in the urban area, and try to largely enhance the traffic flowing efficiency.This year, Changsha topped in the first five among the national scoring of "Smooth Traffic Index". It is revealed from the 2010 Chinese New-Approach Urbanization Report proposed by CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) that it only takes 27 minutes to go to work in Changsha, lower than the average level of China s large and medium cities.
