Lu Ziyue visited Bayer Shanghai Integration Base

On December 20 afternoon, Lu Ziyue deputy secretary of municipal party committee, and mayor of Lishui City, visited Bayer Shanghai integration base located in Shanghai chemical industrial zone.

German Bayer Group is one of the top 500 world famous enterprises, and ranks at the top in various areas such as in material technology, crop science, and medical health care and so on. China is the second-largest market of Bayer in Asia. In November, 2001, Bayer group began to invest in Shanghai chemical industrial park on a large scale, to build a world-class integrated chemical industry base. On this base, firms are building various world-class factories that produce polycarbonate, polyurethane materials and polyurethane paint materials. The polyurethane materials produced by Bayer Shanghai integration base is the water-borne polyurethane resin, making it the world largest supplier.

After hearing an introduction by a responsible officer of Bayer Shanghai integration base,Lu Ziyue said that in Lishui economic development zone, there are numerous enterprises in synthetic leather industry, and its development has come to a critical stage for transformation and update, so it needs to be promoted in order to maintain a sustainable development. At present, the main raw materials used for synthetic substrate is oily polyurethane resin. Although it has the low cost but causes serious pollution. Therefore, it has become an inevitable trend to replace waterborne polyurethane resin with oily polyurethane resin.

Lu Ziyue says, at present, synthetic leather industry needs to be upgraded and the best solution to the pollution problem is to transform it into water ecological synthetic leather, replacing the main raw materials - oily polyurethane resin with the water-borne polyurethane resin. With the fast globalization of international markets, high quality of the products and low pollution will be paid more and more attention to, and water-borne polyurethane resin will surely replaced oily polyurethane resin. If the synthetic leather of Lishui wants to occupy a market share and to maintain sustainable development, we must strengthen the cooperation with the world largest supplier of Bayer Shanghai integration base, speed up the upgrade, improve technology, and realize a win-win situation.
