The Government of Dongguan is planning to raise its minimum wage again.
Adjustment of minimum of wage has become one of the hot topics during the ongoing legislature meeting held at the city's Conference Building.

Speaking to press media on Wednesday, a Vice Mayor of Dongguan Mr. Jiang Ling said, Dongguan Government is considering raising the city's minimum salary, in order to ease the labor shortage that local manufacturers is currently experiencing.
According to Jiang, shortage of labor force for local manufacturers is likely to worsen if the government continues to keep the previously set minimum wage. The minimum wage in Dongguan is now 770 yuan per month, compared to 1000 yuan per month in Shenzhen and 860 yuan per month in Guangzhou.
Jiang said the government will reduce manufacturers' operating costs by cutting or removing other charges upon them after the minimum salary is raised.
