More than 1,100 booths joined the 4-day Expo which focuses on showcasing nine ranges of products. These include 20,000 competitive products representing the spectrum of Taiwan made industry, Taiwan-featured agricultural food and fruit, energy-saving products, garment and accessories and creative cultural products.
To enrich the Expo, a series of cultural performances will be presented by native Taiwanese people.
Approximately 2400 buyers from around the country have registered online to participate in the Expo. However, the number of buyers is expected to reach 10,000 as the actual number of visitors is usually 3 times the online registration according to the Expo's organizer.
To help the Expo move smoothly, the organizers have selected 100 volunteers from colleges in Dongguan to serve as receptionists, guides and provide assistance to people with disabitities during the Expo.
Dongguan is home to in excess of 8,000 Taiwan-funded enterprises, and the city's Humen Port operates direct shipping routes to Taiwan, building a solid base for extending economic and trade development with Taiwan.
