63 overseas Chinese teens from the United States, France, England and French Guiana, the first group from a summer camp program for overseas Chinese teenagers, began a 6-day trip to seek their roots in Dongguan on July 17, according to a report from Dongguan Times.
They will visit Weiyuan Barbette Field and Marine War Museum in Humen Town, and the ancient village clusters in Shipai Town. There they will experience local conditions and customs in Dongguan. During the summer camp, the teens will also learn Chinese Kungfu, Chinese traditional calligraphy and lion-dancing.

Different from the previous years, 23 Dongguan students will also participate in the program. According to sources from Dongguan Foreign Affairs Bureau, each local participant will invite 3 overseas Chinese adolescents to visit their family for dinner and exchange on July 20.
The "Travel to Seek Roots in China" program for overseas Chinese adolescents aims at promoting communication between Chinese and foreign students. It provides a platform of study and communication for overseas Chinese adolescents who wish to return to China for study.
