Dongguan is still a favorite place for foreign investment as the city had maintained good economic and social stability during the global financial crisis, the mayor of Dongguan Mr. Li Yuquan said on November 17 in Tokyo when dining with some Japanese corporate leaders.
The Mayor last Sunday kicked off a 10-day business trip to South Korea and Japan to invite more Korean and Japanese corporations to invest in his city. Over the past two days, the Mayor had visited Seoul, Suwon and Jeju Island in South Korea.
Dongguan, an important export hub in south China, is home to over 500 Japanese firms. Electronics manufacturers TDK, Kyocera and Pioneer are among those companies that have set up plants in the city.
