The Ceremony for Direct Cross Strait Shipping was held in Yangshan on December 15. On the ceremony, SIPG President Chen made a phone call with Mr. Xie Minghui, Director of Kaohsiung Port, congratulating on the direct sea links starting to Taiwan. Cosco s Yuanhe and CSCL s New Africa started their sailings to Taiwan, commemorating the historical moment. The voyage distance will be shortened by one third after the direct sea links, which will dramatically reduce logistics cost for carriers.
