Suffered from the global financial crisis, port of Shanghai slowed down its growth rate comparing with previous years, but still keeps a reasonable growth. For 2008, it realized 28 million TEU in terms of container throughput, grew by 7%; and 368 million ton in terms of total cargo tonnage, up 4.5%. YangshanDeepwaterPort contributed 8.23 million TEU with growth rate of 34.7%, water-to-water transshipment accounting for 50%.
