August 19 -21, sponsored by Shipping Online, the International Shipowner and Service Conference (ISS 2010) was held at the Dalian Furama Hotel. The Matchmaking Symposium at the conference obtained high praise and approval from its participants, becoming an eye-catching highlight of the event.
The Matchmaking Symposium was in a cordial and friendly atmosphere and crowded with participants. For easy communication among the participants, the organizers prepared a separate table for each of the enterprises for their promotional materials, business cards, enterprise numbers and signs; in the documents of the symposium, they also provided a distribution diagram of enterprises so as to help participants learn more ahead of time about the exact locations and numbers of the displays, their matchmakings and the enterprises they were interested in.
The participants who were interviewed by the reporters at the scene said that this kind of symposium was flexible and helpful. It was not only quick and easy for them to find the companies they were interested in and to have one-to-one negotiations, but also convenient for the enterprises waiting in their own booths for their customers.
The annual conference has brought together, both from within the country and abroad, famous shipowners, charterers and cargo owners, shipyards, spare parts suppliers, oil providers, maritime academies, crew labor agencies, ship financing banks and a variety of shipping brokerages, among whom 11 are from the 15 world s largest fuel companies; 7 of 12 classification societies are from the top ten of the world; nearly all the domestic ship financing and leasing banks are here for the meeting. The unique feature of the conference is that over one third of the participants are shipowners and 75% of them are private owners from small or medium shipyards: executives, general managers, vice presidents or department managers compose 80% and all of them are market elites, who will, with the aid of the conference, exchange experience and discuss the business in order to extend international exchange and cooperation and to seek a post-crisis breakthrough.
The ISS was first held by Shipping Online in 2009, which has been hailed as an international maritime event that is the most relevant to shipowners and the market.
