October 8, a promotion seminar on cooperation and exchanges between Dalian and Ningbo was held at Ningbo Marriott Hotel, at which Dalian informed more than 400 people from the industrial and commercial communities of the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta of the strategies of Dalian s macro-urbanization, investment policies and some major projects. Mayor Li Wancai of Dalian and Vice Mayor Xu Mingfu of Ningbo attended the seminar and delivered speeches. At the meeting, 38 cooperation agreements related to the modern service industry, the chemical industry, environmental protection, new energy and real estate were signed between the boroughs and economic pilot zones of Dalian and enterprises from various cities such as China Metallurgical Group Corporation(MCC), Beijing Huapu Industry Group Co. Ltd, Greentown Real Estate Development Company Limited, Shanghai Yifeng Group, Shanghai Hezhong Property Company, Jiangsu Fengjiang Group, Jiangsu Valin, Jiangsu Cisco and Shenzhen Nanli Decoration Engineering Co. Ltd. Vice Mayor Sun Guangtian chaired the seminar. Li Wancai briefed the attendees about Dalian s macro-urbanization. He said that the Plan for the Opening and Development of the Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone made it clear that, to enhance overall strength and to improve service functions, Dalian will establish the International Shipping Center of Northeast Asia, International Logistics Center of Northeast Asia, and the Regional Financial Center and Modern Service Industry Cluster to have full play with core status and a leading role in driving the regional development acceleration. Facing a great historical opportunity, the Dalian Party Committee and the Municipal Government set up a strategic goal to step up macro-urbanization, to push forward the construction of three centers , to build a modern industrial cluster, to achieve the new strategic development leap forward and to implement a series of strategic initiatives, accelerating the construction of the regional core city. As a leading city opening both inside and outside China in the Northeast, Li went on, Dalian will set up a long-term mechanism for regional economic cooperation with the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, initiate partnerships with coastal areas and share the advanced production factors of technology, personnel, management and information with them in order to promote the rapid development of the regional economy. We will extend international commercial and technological cooperation, strengthen cooperation with developed coastal areas, build a complete economic network and relationship with the world s major economies and economic regions and establish a comprehensive, multi-level, wide-area, high-level, open and new pattern of cooperative-based economy. Li extended his invitation to the attendees and said that Dalian is now at a new start, waiting for people to explore and create a better future together. All investors will be sincerely welcome to develop in Dalian, to experience the passion for new undertakings and to achieve mutual benefit and double wins in the new strategic development leap forward. On behalf of the Ningbo Party Committee and the Ningbo Municipal Government, Xu Mingfu extended his congratulations to the success of the seminar and hopes that it will promote mutual understanding and friendship between the two sides for deeper cooperation and exchanges in broader fields with their respective advantages. At the seminar, persons in charge from the governments of Jinzhou New Area, Puwan New Area, Free Trade Zone, High-tech Industrial Zone, Shangshan Islands Tourist Resort, Shahekou District, L shunkou District, Zhuanghe City and other boroughs and economic pilot zones gave presentations on their own advantages of location, investment environment and projects.
