President of the University of Nantes heads a visit to GDUT

On the afternoon of November 14, Prof. Yves Lecointe, President of the University of Nantes, France heads a delegation to visit GDUT during his stay in Guangzhou attending the Sino-French Seminar on Engineering Education. Prof. Liu Dayun, Deputy Secretary of the University meets the visiting guests. Professor Liu first extends his sincere welcome to the delegates followed by a brief account of the University's latest development. He said the two universities have long been carrying out substantive cooperation in fields of joint post-graduate training, students and teachers exchange since the establishment of cooperative relations in 2005. Both sides are glad to find that remarkable results have been achieved since then. In particular, Prof. Liu extends his gratitude to the University of Nantes for funding 7 teachers from GDUT to visit and participate in academic seminars there. He expresses his hope that the president's visit will further strengthen cooperation between the two sides, expanding the scope of cooperation to fields such as joint scientific research as well as joint training of doctorate students.
Mr. Yves Lecointe fully agrees with what Prof. Liu stated. He said with the rapid development of Chinese Universities, it is of great significance to strengthen the co-operation between Chinese and French universities. He is pleased with the co-operation progress between the two universities and hopes to further strengthen it in the future, especially by exploring possibilities for cooperation in joint scientific research and joint doctoral students' training programs. After the meeting, Prof. Liu accompanies the president and his colleagues for a tour around the Mega Center campus.
