Upon the invitation of Office of International Relations, Ms. Monica Yang, Senior International Program Officer from Queen s University Belfast visited SCAU on November 26, 2009. The two sides briefed the basic profiles of the university respectively and discussed matters regarding the student exchange programs and faculty scientific research and cooperation.
Monica visited College of Food Sciences, College of Informatics and software and College of Economics and Management respectively. College of Food Sciences was one of the colleges that established collaborative relationship with Queen s University Belfast as early as in 1984. Heads from these three colleges expressed the hope that the two sides could further strengthen mutual cooperation in the future. Ms. Monica Yang said she was very happy to see the fast development of the above disciplines in SCAU and would strive to promote the long-term academic cooperation between the two universities.
Queen s University Belfast was founded in 1845 of the Victorian era, and was one of the oldest 10 universities in Britain. Enjoying a high reputation in teaching and research, it had established a cooperative relationship with many famous universities in mainland China.
