November 23, 2010. Meeting of student affairs was held in the Second Conference Room on Wujing Campus in the afternoon. Shi Guodong, Party Secretary of Changzhou University, Chen Quiqing, Vice President of CZU, attended the meeting and delivered remarks.
In his speech, Shi Guodong pointed out that student affairs are of great importance and there is always room for improvement. Students need to be supervised, but what s more important, they need to be understood. Shi urged that all leaders and teachers dealing with student affairs should first stress the importance of college students mental health, and teach them how to handle mental problems. Second, they should focus their work on the learning habits of college students. Students will achieve more if they set higher goals, like pursuing postgraduate studies. A good mechanism will lead to higher achievements of students. Third, teachers should conduct theoretical research based on the realities of student affairs.
Chen Quiqing required that forthcoming student affairs should be carried out smoothly. The golden period of job hunting is coming, and all faculties should think how to help senior students find better jobs. At the same time, students should be instructed on how to plan the studies during their college life.
At the meeting, all faculties and relevant departments reported their recent work, and finally the Department of Student Affairs specified the work in the next phase.
