Friendly exchanges conducted onboard NADEZHDA

A few days ago, a Russian sailing boat named NADEZHDA traveled all the way from Vladivostok to take part in the celebration of the National Day for Russian Federation at 2010 Shanghai EXPO.

Onboard the sailing boat are Mr. Alexander Davydenko, Head of Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport, Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergey Ogai, President of Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoi (MSU) and teachers and students of MSU.

On Sept. 27, Prof. Yu Shicheng, SMU President and teacher and student representatives of SMU Merchant Marine College boarded NADEZHDA at Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal to carry on warm and friendly talks with Russian guests at the invitation of Mr. Sergey Ogai, President of MSU.

Students of both universities had interchange activities on NADEZHDA. During the Model APEC, students of both universities, respectively on behalf of one of Asian-Pacific countries or regions debated on topics of global warming and alternative energy.

Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoi (the original Russian Far Eastern State Maritime Academy) is the first Maritime University in Russia to prepare specialists necessary for maritime transport systems in the spheres of natural science, the humanities, technical and marine conventional trends. MSU is one of the biggest maritime universities, being the leading university of Asian-Pacific region and the top scientific methodological center of maritime education on Russian Far East.
