President Yu Shicheng Visits HKSOA and HK PolyU

On November 9, a SMU delegation led by President Yu Shicheng visited Hong Kong Ship Owners Association (HKSOA) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU).

In the morning, President Yu met with Mr. Gu Jiangang Chairman of HKSOA and President of Tai Chong Cheang Steamship Group and Mr. Liang Minxing, former Chairman of HKSOA.

President Yu spoke highly of the contributions made by HKSOA to the shipping industry of Hong Kong and the world. He said SMU was ready to further communicate and cooperate with HKSOA to foster more special talents in international shipping industry.

In the afternoon when visiting HK PolyU, President Yu was warmly received by Prof. Ruan Zeng Yuanqi, Vice President of HK PolyU. On behalf of President Tang Weizhang, Vice President Ruanzeng Yuanqi first extended their warm welcome to President Yu Shicheng and other heads. President Yu said HK PolyU and SMU had maintained a good communication and cooperation relationship for a long time.

In the past few years, the two sides have made great achievements in personnel training and faculty exchanges. He hoped that both sides would enhance communication and enlarge fields of cooperation in the future.

Both sides deeply discussed on the topics of undergraduate student exchange program, scientific research, information sharing and high-level personnel training.
