The 7th Report of 2010 China Maritime Day Cultural Forum held

On November 17, co-organized by Office of China Maritime Day, Chinese Society of Oceanography, China Pacific Institute, Shanghai Oriental Rostrum and Shanghai Maritime University, the seventh Report of 2010 China Maritime Day Cultural Forum was held at SMU. Prof. Xi Longfei from Wuhan University of Technology, Honorary President of Chinese Maritime History Studies institute delivered a speech titled Glorious Oriental Navigation Civilization- the Dominant Chinese Ship Culture to over 400 students and teachers.

With the historical development as the clue, looking backwards, Prof. Xi systematically briefed the evolution of Chinese shipping industry especially the ship-building industry; and looking forwards, he prospected for the brilliant future of Chinese shipbuilding industry in the new century.
