On May 28 Vice President Wang Runxiao met with Professor Harvard Cohen, President of Purdue University Calumet. Also present at the meeting were Tang Hong, director of the Office for International Cooperation, Sun Yu, deputy director of the same Office, Wan Xiaopeng, director of the Office for Teaching Affairs, Li Tiehu, vice dean of the Graduate School.
Vice President Wang gave President Cohen a briefing on the teaching and research at NPU and its international educational exchange programs. President Cohen also briefed the characteristics of his university and its cooperation with Chinese universities. The two sides carried out an in-depth discussion on Bachelor's degree, Master's degree and PhD degree student exchange programs and reached some consensuses.
After the meeting President Cohen gave a lecture on how to apply for study in the USA, which turned out to be very popular among the students.
