The Northwest China Contest Region Organizing Committee Founded

The Northwest China Contest Region Organizing Committee of the 7th China Postgraduate Electronic Design Contest Organizing Committee was founded at NPU on May 6. The founding ceremony was attended by Zhou Zucheng, professor of Tsinghua University and secretary-general of the National Organizing Committee, and Wang Xinxia from China Society for Electronics. The contest for the Northwest China Contest Region will be run by NPU Graduate School, whose vice dean, Professor Li Tiehu, will be the chairman of the Organizing Committee.

The contest was initiated by Tsinghua University and other sponsoring organizations in 1996, sponsored by China Society for Electronics and run by Tsinghua University for six times. More than 350 professors and students in 87 teams from 52 universities or research organizations participated in the sixth contest in 2007. The talents selected through the contest play an active role in IT and higher education circles. The contest is authoritative and of the highest academic level for graduate students.
