Alumnus XIAN Ran elected "2009 Guangdong Top Ten Economic Persons"

On the evening of Mar 18, the award ceremony of "2009 Guangdong Top Ten Economic Persons" election was held, hosted by Southern Media Corporation, Guangdong Yangcheng Evening News Digital Media Co., Guangdong TV and Yangcheng Evening News. XIAN Ran, Chairman of Guangzhou Echom Science & Technology CO., LTD (ECHOM) who is studying the EMBA program in School of Business Administration, won the title.

Xian has developed ECHOM into an enterprise with its own development model and distinctive characteristics. It has become a large-scale industrial design group which has 7 subsidiaries and 8 industry bases, and its products cover 8 areas including the industries of television, automobile and IT. Premier WEN Jiabao, Vice-president XI Jinping and Vice-premier LI Keqiang repeatedly visited or had informal discussions with ECHOM in the hope of promoting its good experiences and practices among the province even the whole country, thus to help more enterprises improve their competitive force.

The "Guangdong Top Ten Economic Persons" election has lasted for 6 years in a row. The election of 2009 sets the main line on development transition, industrial upgrading, independent innovation and economic recovery, and pays special attention to the areas such as low-carbon economy, financial innovation and creative industry etc. It elects the ten "leaders" who have topped in the industry and made great contributions to growth securing, structure transferring and mode promoting of Guangdong's economy.
